| Description: | The Sr. Mechanical Engineer is responsible for producing engineering and design deliverables necessary for project and proposal execution.
Major Responsibilities:
- Preparing and delivering work packages (drawings, calculations, specifications, bills of materials, material requisitions, etc.) to the Lead Discipline Engineer or Project Engineer on schedule.
- Conformance to contract for all engineering and material.
- Monitoring man-hour and material estimates (EAC) and reporting changes.
BS Degree in Engineering required; 5-8 yrs. Power Industry experience; P.E. License (preferred & required to work toward)
Skills: • Review Process Design Documents and P&IDS; Support Construction Activities - Answer Request for Information (RFIs) from the construction site.
• Support Start-up Activities
• Provide technical guidance, technical inputs to Mechanical Designers. Reviewing and approving drawings.
• As-Built Drawings - Support Mechanical Design.
• Be able to prepare, check and/or review technical specifications for purchase of mechanical equipment.
• Prepare, check and/or review Bill of Materials for miscellaneous piping components or small equipment.
• Ability to prepare, check and/or review Mechanical Lists - (ie.) Equipment List, Manual Valve List, Pipe Line List, and Piping Specialties List
• Prepare, check and/or review calculations.
• Prepare requisitions.
• Bid Reviews including conforming bid documents to reflect as purchased (specifications, bill of materials, etc)
• Review of Supplier documents to confirm that what is being supplied is what was purchased and to make sure it is technically acceptable.
• Support Project Engineers - Assist with responses to customer, construction, and commissioning inquires / questions and with Operation and Maintenance Manual preparation.
• When assigend as Lead Mechanical Engineer on a Project, required to manage the workload and review the work of supporting mechanical engineers assigned to work on mechanical tasks for that Project. 10-Hour OSHA Training required. Ability to work in both office and construction site environments. Must be capable of travel to client, consultants, suppliers, company offices, and job sites. Job sites require use of ladders and stairs to perform duties. |
